Old brass and Steel Watchmaker's Rounding-up Tool· Brass and Steel Watchmaker's Rounding-up Tool, from Switzerland, 19th century, hand wheel, wood crank knob, cutting arbor, and work holder, all on a wooden base, ht. 24 cm. · This antique brass "engine" is used to form or modify the tooth profiles of watch gears. · For a new gear, the teeth can be cut with a simple saw made to form a square notch with the proper circular pitch and depth. · This tool was made in a watch factory. Sixis is/was the trade name of manufactured by the Swiss company Sixis, possibly came from Perrendoud et Fils of La Neuveville.· Excellent condition overall, showing some very minor cosmetic blemishes. · Very heavy· Please see pictures.· This will be very safe packaged and shipped without delay once payment has been received.· All items I sell are vintage or antique and may not be as new or when first made and may show signs of wear, age, use, or soiling, rust, dents, scratches, chips, flakes, or states that are other than when originally made.
