Empire Ormolu Striking Mantle Clock Circa 1810 Pendule Au Vase See Details
SOLD $2,025.00 Sold: Mar 2, 2024 on eBayOriginal Listing Description
This auction is for an Empire Ormolu Striking Mantle Clock " Pendule Au Vase" circa 1810. This clock was purchased from Christies auction house in 2010. It was later assessed by Christies in 2021. There is a full description as to the condition of the clock after assessment that can all be read in photos. One evident flaw is that there is a crack in the bronze by cupids wings. They are still securely in place, this happened sometime in the last 2 years after i took the clock home and it was boxed up. Three original parts have been acquired since the assessment, the torch, winding key and missing screw. The clock is in working condition, im told it needs to be adjusted to ensure the striking mechanism is accurate. I would recommend taking it to a clock shop. This clock was given to me to sell from a family member, it came from a clean home where it was well taken care of. It could use a good cleaning to bring out the original brightness of the bronze. I will do my best to answer any questions regarding the clock, i have taken many photos to show the condition as best as possible. There are some scratches on the rear left base, otherwise i believe most other marks just need to be cleaned properly. Clock will be packed up VERY securely and will arrive to you as pictured. (Condition: Pre-Owned)
Note: This item has been sold and is no longer available. This page serves as a historical price reference for clocks collectors and appraisers.
