eBay For sale is an 8.5” dial Chelsea pedestal presentation clock, with original surface dial and re-nickeled case. Original Chelsea sales ledger record indicates the Chelsea movement was sold by Chelsea Clock Company to American Steam Gauge & Valve Company on May 7th, 1913. I added more photos to the listing including the clock next to an iPhone for size perspective - the 8.5” dial diameter is a significant presence Technically therefore we can alternatively refer to this clock as an American Steam Gauge Clock with Chelsea movement. I have seen it listed both ways in the very few examples sold over the years.The Chelsea movement serial number 83324 can be seen in one of the included photos. The time only movement is the marine model, currently keeping accurate time well within Chelsea’s factory standard. A key is included to lock and unlock the hinged bezel. A winding key will also be included.This clock was a presentation piece for Frederick A. Ryer, who in 1911 became the purchasing agent for the Boston & Albany RR ( owned by New York Central RR). The engraved signature is one of the finest we’ve seen for a clock of this era.If the clock needs to be adjusted in the future there is a functioning regulator accessible in the front of the dial.$2400 or best offer, plus $100 for double box packing, shipping via USPS registered insured priority, and tracking, to continental U.S. only.
