An especially fine and rare Art Deco clock, this aquatic-themed desktop piece was made by Arthur Imhof in Switzerland, probably not long after he begin to make clocks in 1939. The brilliantly hued enameled fish on the face of the clock, together with its fish-shaped clock hands, give it a vivid undersea motif that reflects the period's fascination with all things oceanic. Imhof also founded the Helveco brand of clocks and watches, which continue to be available today.
