Click images to enlarge Description Heritage Matters SETH THOMAS SONORA CHIME CLOCK ALL ORIGINAL 8 DAY T&S CIRCA 1910-1920 This is an antique Seth Thomas Sonora Chime clock, their "Chime Clock No. 00," in the smallest case Thomas mounted a Sonora chime movement in. The chime movement was designed by William Hoschke, an engineer with a background in music boxes. He produced them in his own company for about four years, but in 1912, sold his patents to Seth Thomas. They faithfully reproduced his style for some years, but eventually changed it to strike on rods instead of bells and without the resonating chamber. This model, which I believe came out in 1914, uses four bells. The case measures approximately 9.5 X 11.5 X 7 inches. The Adamantine finish is superb; I see no blemishes at all. This particular clock was well-taken care of. I did lightly lubricate the movement, and nothing else. That is not to say it is perfect--it is, after all, more an a hundred years old. But it is really, really good! Oh, the back has been replaced, apparently when the clock had work done on it in 2008. I sell all electrical and mechanical devices in "as-is" condition as they can easily get out of adjustment or even broken in transit. Even then, however, you still have a 30 day inspection period during which the item can be returned or any reason--however it must be returned in the same condition in which I shipped it, meaning if there is damage, an insurance claim must be made.
