Porthole Look Composite Case Works Item Description Here is a great American Ship's Bell clock that was made by Chelsea for your buying consideration. Would make a great gift or keep for yourself.A nice looking gold colored lacquer look case on this clock. The case is made of some sort of composite material. The case has a porthole look to it. Would guess the clock dates to sometime after the WWII period. Notes Chelsea Clock Co, and Boston on the back of the case. The clock was some sort of presentation piece at the Sun Shipbuilding & Drydock Co. of Chester, PA USA. Noted on the face of the clock.The bezel (door) is attached to the rest of the case by a hinge. The locking screw is on the other side of the bezel. Flat glass in the bezel is intact. Just some minor surface scratching to the glass, no cracks or blistering. The clock will come with a wind key.The clock has been running since we acquired it. Think this is an 8 day movement. This is a time only clock. The spring feels sound on the movement when keyed. The clock's hands all move as they should including the seconds hand. So, selling the clock in running condition at this juncture. The clock face shows some discoloration, wear to finish, and fading from age and is intact. The clock has both its' minute and hour hands as well as the seconds hand. The clock's composite case is 7-5/8" across, by 7-5/8" tall, by 2-9/16" wide (2-5/8" tall by the lock screw). The clock face is 5" across.
