eBay Vintage Mid Century Modern Starburst or Sunburst Wall Clock - Seth Thomas "Starflower" model1960s production. Atomic era design.Two staggered rows of wood starburst rays surround a brass-tone factory printed dial inscribed with the Seth Thomas brand name. Impressively sized at 26.5 inches in diameter tip to tip.The original movement (non-working) has been replaced (December 2023) with a top-of-the-line USA made TAKANE battery powered Quartz movement (takes 1 AA battery - not included due to shipping regulations). The movement is nearly silent, has an off-on switch, and a thumb dial so the analog time can be set without touching the delicate clock hands. Tested and working, keeps accurate time.The clock's original label remains affixed to the reverse side of the frame, which is fitted with an aperture for easy hanging on the wall. The rays are wood with minor signs of wear here and there and a little chipping on a couple tips seen only on the reverse. I included images of the front faces of all the wood rays so you can view their condition as viewed when the clock is on the wall. The metal frame has age toning, wear and small slightly rough specks where the base metal has been exposed. The dial shows age toning, a few dark specks and some scuffing on the edge of the top quadrant on the "1" and "2" side. I ship promptly and am experienced safely packing shipping large vintage clocks.I allow 3 days shipping time to prepare these large fragile clocks for safe shipping. The packaging is quite involved as you might guess. Shipping cost reflects the carrier published rates from my zip code to the buyer's for this package size and weight. The clock will ship via UPS GROUND in a 30 x 30 x 6 inch box. The clock will be stabilized within the carton in a custom inner package so it won't shift in transit, and ample void fill will be used to make the shipping safe for the item. Generally my large packed Starburst clocks weigh between 10 and 12 pounds completely ready to ship, depending on size and materials employed in the clock's manufacture.
