eBay Antique Circa 1815-1820 Chauncy Ives Pillar & Scroll Mantle Clock - Must See Description Our SKU: 275885426234 M2B77L6 Item Brand: Chauncy Ives Item MPN: 65465 Antique Circa 1815-1820 Chauncy Ives Pillar amp; Scroll Mantle Clock - Must See Antique Circa 1815 - 1820 Chauncy Ives Pillar Scroll American Parlor / Mantle Clock. These clocks were made and could only be afforded by the well to do or wealthy people of the day. For Each clock that was sold, a sketch artist was sent to their home to sketch up a depiction of the property, and a rendition of that was hand painted on the door, this is why each of these original era examples have different door paintings. This example has a plantation owners home with what is likely the slave quarters in the depiction. Operating Condition - This clock did operate properly for several hours, the minutes kept good time and striker also functioned as intended. Please understand I don't know the last time this clock has been serviced if ever, and service MAY be needed for long term optimal operation. Features - Original hand painted wood clock face - Mahogany case - Original paper on the inside. Comes with both weights a door key and mechanism key. Case Condition is as seen - Please View ALL photos to judge condition for yourself. I see one very small flaked portion in the very middle at the bottom otherwise SUPERB example overall - VERY clean, Scroll tops are undamaged, feet are also good, the 3 metal steeples also look original.
