eBay SETH THOMAS PARLOR CALENDAR CLOCK No. 9 Purchased from a local clock chapter member, I have for offer this Seth Thomas Parlor Calendar No. 9 and it is a fully functional calendar clock to purchase and own. This model Calendar clock is hard to find, is great looking, and not common for sale in the public market. This Parlor Calendar No. 9 has beautiful carvings throughout the walnut case and door. The finish on the wood cabinet is in great condition. The glass retainers in the door were caulked when I purchased this clock and I replaced it with wood (walnut) glass retainers. The wood back was split when I received this clock and does not affect the performance. Fear of doing more damage to try to repair I left it alone. The painted dials are in excellent condition. Both movements are in excellent running condition keeping excellent time and striking properly. The black spade hands are original. The roll paper calendar day and month of the lower dial appear to be original and is working properly on a 31 day month. However, on a 28, 29 or 30 day month, the day hand will have to be manually moved to the first of the month. For example, on June 1st the calendar will read May 31st. Just move the day hand to the 1st of the month manually and the month will roll to June. The good news is you only have to move the day hand only 5 times a year. I ran this clock for several months to make sure the time and calendar has been properly working for the new owner to enjoy. This clock offers two huge 8 7/8” painted dials that have grommets around the winding holes which can be seen through the 8” glass windows. The fancy carving wood door opens and closes perfectly and locks properly as it should. The bottom glass is in excellent condition and has no chips or scratches in it but the upper glass has 2 small scratches in the center area of the glass that I could not get to show in the pictures. A proper size one sided key comes with the clock. Every aspect of this clock is fully functional. This model is equipped with a completely rebuilt movement by me showing in pictures of it disassembled, with working Geneva stops to prevent from winding springs excessively. This clock strikes on the top of the hours only on a cupped silver cathedral bell that is pleasing to the ear. All the flirts were adjust correctly so that the strike side works properly and activates at the top of the hour as it should. The following procedures are done to each and every clock that I sell. Ø Disassemble the entire clock and movement myself completely. Ø Install original parts on the movement when possible. Ø Bush all worn pivot holes as needed with superior Burgeon bronze bushings. Ø Clean the entire movement ultrasonically. Ø Clean the existing dial sash and glass making sure not to alter the finish. Ø Clean bezel, parts and chime by hand. Ø Clean the outside of the existing finish by hand with mild cleaners as well as the inside and apply a coat of wax by hand. Ø Reassemble the clock, oil and lube in the proper places. Ø Adjust chime and strike hammer sequence properly to assure smooth and even strikes at each hour. Ø Electronically regulate the beat and adjust the speed to ensure accuracy for many generations. Ø Inspect and adjust every minor detail of the clock assuring full function and peak performance for many years to come. Ø Test the clock for a minimum of two weeks to ensure peak and proper performance for the new owner. Ø Smoke free, pet free home. All clocks are cleaned and odors removed. Ø Instructions for set up provided, contact number for on going support and discounted maintenance or repair for your clock.
