eBay Animated blinking eye novelty clock by the American Clock Company in New York @ 1850s. This is a very good original example of this famous clock. Cast iron case with no damage, and the remains of an American Clock Company, New York label under the base. The paint is old, possibly original, with some touch-up over the years. Original functional blinking eyes which are moved by a wire attached to the verge. This clock presents very well! Case dimensions are: 16" tall x 8 1/2" wide at the base x 6" deep at the base, and weighs 15 1/2 pounds. The 30 hour time only balance wheel movement is stamped C. Jerome on the frontplate. It is complete and intact, and runs strong, keeping time, but is sold with out any warranty. The original glass has come loose from the bezel, but is present,a needs to be re-puttied back into the bezel. Original hands, with the minute hand having lost its tip. With winding key. No reserve.
