Telechron was purchased by General Electric in the mid-1920s, and by 1928 all Telechron clocks had both Telechron and GE names. Then from 1932 to 1938, this practice stopped and Telechron clocks were marketed without the GE name. We think this model 3H83 clock is from the early to mid-1920 before the GE name was ever used. Measuring 6” wide by 5 ¼” tall, this clock has a 3 ½” diameter dial and still retains its convex glass crystal. The back of the case is marked “Telechron Electric Clock Model 3H83 Warren Telechron Co. Ashland, Ma Made in U.S.A.” along with several US patent numbers. There is also a sticker label on the back of the Bakelite frame that reads “Sunlight Will Fade Case.” When we plugged this clock in, we could hear the motor humming and the hands began to advance but the clock does not keep good time.
