This listing is for a gorgeous antique Irish grandfather/ long case clock.This piece is by John Gray of Belfast (Ireland) circa 1824.The case is made in the traditional drum head style, popularized during England’s Regency Period. The case features a carved, skirted base, flamed mahogany finish, gold leafed edges, and 3 brass finial spires.The dial is silvered brass with etched floral motifs, and a signature in the center. The movement is an 8 day time and strike with a visible second hand.The clock is in overall good condition and is quite eye catching.The movement was last serviced in 2017. We tested it recently and it runs and chimes. Please note that any mechanical clock that is moved might require minor adjustments upon arrival, and thus time accuracy is not guaranteed. Weights, pendulum, and winding key are included The door does have a lock, but the skeleton key is not present (which is quite typical). The door is unlocked and opens and closes without problem.The casing is in overall good condition. Minor signs of age and normal wear are present, such as darkening of wood, very minor color loss on some of the gold leaf, and a repaired chip on the corner of the top hood.It measures 86 x 20 x 10 inches Note: this listing is for local pickup only.
