This listing is for a large and unusual mid 19th century wall clock.This clock is a Swiss jeweler’s regulator (also possibly French). The clock features a very large oversized oval form, with a lovely burled wood, Biedermeier like case.The clock is weight driven and has a pinwheel regulator movement, complimented by a porcelain dial and lyre pendulum.This clock is quite a rarity. Clocks of this style were produced for high end businesses and jeweler’s shops (hence the name). They were made to be eye-catching and statement-like with extremely accurate movements, allowing jewelers to set watches in their shops to the time on their jeweler’s regulator wall clock.This clock appears to be in overall good condition. Some signs of normal wear and age are present, including a few minor scratches on the casing. There’s also a slight crackle to the finish on the under part of the lower left, but it’s not very noticeable The clock was last serviced in 2015. The weight and pendulum are included. Please note that any mechanical clock that is moved or shipped might require adjustments upon arrival and thus time accuracy cannot be guaranteed.
