However, it was exported to England, where "B.Leefe & Sons" sold the clock. We did a quick search and learned that B. Leefe was a Jewelry store founded in Malton, North Yorkshire, England, and they are still in business. They both sold and made clocks and pocket watches and were silversmiths. On the back, you will see two Leefe paper labels and the original owner's name written in ink "M. Wilson Hildenley." Hildenley Parish was located 2 miles southwest of Malton. ...... The marquetry inlay Case on this antique 19th-century American New Haven Wall Clock is in excellent condition. There are a few minor shrinkage separations and one repaired crack to the right side, but that's it. The face measures 11" in diameter and is in excellent original condition. The overall measurement of this clock is 34" tall by 17" wide, and it still retains its original finish. When you lift the small reversed painted door at the bottom, it reveals its original brass pendulum, and when we wound this clock, it still worked and struck on the hour. The springs are both strong; however, this clock will require proper cleaning and adjustment to keep good time again. This 19th-century Wall Clock has been listed without a reserve.
