Egyptian Revival Mantel Clock Set English C.1880
eBay This is a huge 8 day, 12 Hour display mantel clock, key/winder, pendulum mechanical movement, An impressive Egyptian Revival in black slate and red marble. Exquisitely decorated clock case with engravings, cast bronze Egyptian theme details in good working condition. Arnold & Lewis operated C.1870-1890, and succeeded Isaac Simmons C.1834-1851. 1880 Victorian mantel clock with two flanking garnitures in an urn shape that are not original to the clock but match very well. The garnitures have a bronze bowl - that I think was used as cigar ashtrays Everything about this clock is heavy, approximately the clock is 42 lbs and the garnitures are 12 lbs.I’ll update this listing, please ask for additional pictures or information. Got this from an estate sale. Literally took it off the wall myself. Was quite dusty from never being moved.Single owner. According to the owner, she had bought it new, hung it on the wall, then after a few months never wound it up again. Clock is absolutely in mint condition and sounds beautiful. Even the tape holding the sliding door on the back was still there but was peeling off so I removed it. (That's why you can see the tape residue.)These clocks retail for $2300 brand new, and this is about as close to brand new as it gets. A tune up is most likely needed. As with all clocks, this one will need to be serviced after being shipped anyway.Comes with both keys. One key winds the clock, the other key locks the door.This clock will be fragile packed and insured when being shipped. If you are near the Sacramento, CA area, local pickup can be arranged.
