eBay The Buffalo, Rochester and Pittsburgh Railway thrived on the Transporting of heavy freight, primarily Pennsylvania coal, and its passenger service was characterized as "second to none".[23] The first passenger run took place on the Rochester and State Line Railroad on its 15 September 1874 run from Rochester to Le Roy. The last was on 15 October 1955, when the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad ended its Buffalo - Pittsburgh service. Although the BR&P was not a passenger line, it put a first-class effort into the passenger service that it provided the public. Original true Railroad clocks are very rarely seen as this one is.The Railroad bought their clocks Direct from the maker, as this one was Seth Thomas. Then Seth Thomas does not put their label in the clock.It is papered inside with a felt like paper, and again, no labelThis Seth Thomas "World" model that is time only and will run about 23 days per wind.This one doesn't have the over wind stops, so try not to over wind.If it stops, I wind each side around 16 half turns. Very Rare 1870's antique Ithaca No. 3-1/2 Parlor Double Dial Calendar clock
(Please read this note before deciding to buy or make offers. Until recently, I had listed it for pickup only, because of the possibility of the mechanism getting affected during shipping. There is a lot of interest in this item. So, I have decided to list now with shipping option. However, you have to keep in mind that there will definitly be a need to get it tuned up to make it work at your end. Either you should have experience doing that yourself, or have acces to a person/shop experienced in doing so. I will do my best to pack and ship, including double boxing, etc. Even if nothing breaks during shipping there is still a possibility that some work would be needed to make this clock work once you receive it. Feel free to contact me if you have any concerns. If you prefer professional packing and shipping please let me know.)This is a very collectible and hard to find shelf calendar clock. It has an 8 day time and strike spring driven brass movement with perpetual calendar. The clock case is made of walnut with ebonized turned columns, spandrels and carved crests. It has nickel plated dial surrounds, bell, pendulum rod and crescent calendar hand. The black time dial is 4" and the 31 day glass calendar dial is 7" in diameter, respectively. The gridiron pendulum has a weight/bob made of a glass disk and is etched to read "ICCCo". The calendar dial is marked "H. B. HORTON'S patents, April 18, 1865, and August 28, 1866, ITHACA CALENDAR CLOCK CO. Ithaca, NY". When the time dial is removed one can see that the brass movement is signed "E. N. Welch, Forestville, CT, U. S. A." The clock is 20.5" high, 10.25" wide and 5.5" deep and is in working condition. Key is included. It may need some adjustments to work perfectly. I only tried to set the beat of the clock which may again need to be set after moving/shipping of the clock.(YOU CAN MAKE REASONABLE OFFERS). The finials are all in place on the wood case. This is the one watchman station model from what we have researched. This fine Wall Clock is being offered to you at a price below what you would see in a high end auction house or clock shop. We have been selling items out of our home for over 35 years. We can therefore better control our acquisition costs, keep commission costs low (if applicable), and finally, we don't have the overhead that the high end auction houses and Clock Shops experience.The clock was made in the late 1880s period. Beautiful, maybe a cherry wood case, on this one. Nice receded detailing on the front of the case. Scalloped trim along the top. The back of the wood case appears to be made of mahogany wood. Stencils noting the Watch Clock model are still on the door. Looks like old glass in the case. The front door is securely attached to the rest of the case by the hinges. The glass is intact, no cracking or blistering. Nice old rippling glass here, not some new smooth replacement glass.Has the one lead weight with a brass casing as this is a time only clock. Cannot say if original to the clock or not. Comes with a wind key. Should be an 8 day movement. The pendulum Bob is 4.5” across. The pendulum rod is made of wood and painted gold. Some loss of the paint on the rod.Some sun lightening to the right side of the case over the years. A couple of new stainless brackets on back of case added sometime in the past to make the case more stable, see pics. A shrinkage crack runs across the top of the case.This clock face has roman numerals at all 12 positions. Certainly some paint loss from over the years. Nice looking matching hands on the clock. We see no cracks or splits in the wood case, nor any missing pieces. This clock is being sold in not running condition as have not yet had an opportunity to hang and test it out. The clock is 58.25" tall, 19" across, by 9.25" wide. The clock face is 9.25" across. Let us know if you have any questions or need additional pictures. RARE RESTORED SETH THOMAS SONORA 8 BELL CHIME NO. 266 ANTIQUE MANTEL CLOCK 1914
CHIME CLOCK NO. 266 8-BELL - 1914 For offer and making a scarce appearance is this beautiful Seth Thomas Chime Clock No. 266 that has an 8 bell Sonora produced in the year of 1914. The original finish on the High-grade, very large and heavy mahogany cabinet is in excellent condition with very few character marks as the pictures will show. A beautiful shaded marqueterie (inlay) pattern below the dial, above the dial and around the base really makes this clock stand out as a one of a kind. This clock has a sticker marked 174 on the bottom. Not sure if this is the number of this model made or not but the hand writing is a lot nicer than mine is. This clock has a strong, smooth running, rebuilt 104 Sonora movement, that has had every pivot hole re bushed and is timed properly with the chime wheel and cam wheel. The Sonora movements function is for the quarter hours that the time and strike movement operates. It is designed to play Westminster continuous Whittington continuous or can be switched to alternate to hear Westminster Chime one hour and Whittington Chime the next hour. The 89N time and strike movement has been completely rebuilt replacing all worn pivot holes except for the time load gear and has also been timed properly for proper function of the time and strike of the hours. It has been keeping excellent, consistent time and functioning properly. The back of both of the movements have high polished brass plates making it difficult to take a picture without showing a reflection. The dial is a huge 8 inch convex etched silver dial with large black Arabic numerals that can be clearly viewed from a distance. Seth Thomas Spade shaped hour and minute hands. A polished brass sash and no scratches or chips on the original convex beveled glass. Both front and rear doors open and close properly as they should. This model is equipped with 8-Sonora patented resonated bells with silent chime lever to silence the quarter hours. A video has been added to see and hear each quarter hour followed by the full Whittington and Westminster chime with hour strike. The original pendulum bob with brass on one side and lead on the other side and the original large wing two-sided key come with the clock. This is a model that is not seen often in the ebay and public market and having the original bob and key along with being an 8 bell continuous alternate chime clock make this clock very desirable and highly sought after. Every aspect of this clock is fully functional. What I do to ensure you are buying a quality clock. Ø Disassemble the entire clock and movements myself completely. Ø Bush all worn pivot holes with Burgeon bronze bushings as needed. Ø Clean the entire movement ultrasonically. Ø Clean the original dial being careful not to alter its original condition. If the dial is to far gone, it will be professionally silvered and restored back to Seth Thomas dial specifications. Ø Clean bezel, parts and chime rods by hand. Ø Clean the outside of the original finish by hand with mild cleaners as well as the inside and apply a coat of wax by hand. Ø I will never alter the finish or farm out the clock not knowing what is being done to the clock. This does decrease the value of a clock. Ø Reassemble the clock, oil and lube in the proper places. Ø Adjust chime and strike hammer sequence properly to assure smooth and even strikes at each quarter-hour and hour. Ø Electronically regulate the beat and adjust the speed while the clock is level to ensure accuracy for many generations. Ø Inspect and adjust every minor detail of the clock assuring full function and peak performance for many years to come. Ø Test the clock for a minimum of two weeks to ensure peak and proper performance for the new owner. Ø Smoke free, pet free home. All clocks are cleaned removing odors. Ø Instructions for set up will be provided along with my contact number for on going support and discounted maintenance or repair for your clock in the future. eBay An Edwardian miniature travel clock designed by Valmé Extremely beautiful antique miniature travel-carriage clock, made in Geneva Switzerland by the Concord Watch Co. This little antique clock is exceptional, created during the Edwardian and the belle epoque periods, back in the 1908-1910. It was crafted with gorgeous details in solid sterling silver .935/.999 and mount on a four-round footed base. The three sides panels and the top, are embellished with applications of vivid pink enamel over a radiant Guilloché surface. Rare Black Forest Augenwender Blinking Eye Clock
This auction is for a rare Black Forest clock. The clock was made by the Junghans firm during the early 20th century. This model is very rare and hard to find. It shows well retains a lot of its original paint. It looks like the clock has had some touchup restoration repair done in the past. It’s is a really nice example of a rare clock.
