Looping of Switzerland 5 Function Brass Table / Mantel Clock from the 1960’s Mint Condition This amazing clock was created by the Swiss company Looping. It was part of my dad’s estate, and he was the original owner. Although I don’t know the exact date he purchased it, he owned it for many years. It is in beautiful “perfect” condition because It was always displayed inside a curio cabinet behind glass doors. This wonderful Looping clock is a key wind, eight day, full calendar, moon phase clock that shows the hours, minutes, days of the week, months of the year, and phases of the moon. The clock is housed in a large adjustable double gimbal action brass frame with vertical and horizontal swivel mounting with subsidiary dials for the days of the week. Heuer Swiss Looping Antique Chess Clock. Condition is used; however, this Chess Clock appears in brand new cosmetic and working condition. Both clock sides work and red plungers work as well. Box is original and in excellent condition with Looping Swiss label and contains original tag and manufacturing certificate. This is a rare and unique clock face different from other Heuer Chess Clocks as it has four milled cones on the front face; this is very rare. eBay FINE 1971 GILDED BRASS IMHOF (for Bucherer) SHELF / MANTEL CLOCKAn exquisite Swiss clock from my personal collection of noteworthy vintage and antique timepieces curated since the early 1970s.During the third quarter of the last century Imhof along with Swiss competitors Luxor, Looping and Angelus manufactured the most costly and best quality jeweled lever alarm, desk and shelf clocks. A half-century ago, this large elegant clock carried a retail price of $295. Applying the Consumer Price Index inflation calculator, this is the equivalent of $2,200 in 2023. The heavy (almost 3 pounds!) case with high polished and satin surfaces is precisely machined and cast of brass with a 24K gold electroplated finish. A deep convex crystal covers the matte gilded dial with crisp Roman numerals painted on domes. Hands are delicately cut and finished with black enamel. The week-running movement winds and sets from the rear.Overall condition ranks among the best maintained and original of Swiss gilded metal clocks I've encountered. Particularly remarkable, given the age and inherently fragile nature of the pure gold finish. The clock displays beautifully and holds accurate time. 7.75" high 5.3" wide and 2.3" deep at the beaded feetThe movement was disassembled (including removal of mainspring from barrel), ultrasonically cleaned and rinsed, elements checked for wear, reassembled and lubricated with high-grade Swiss grease and two viscosity oils. Elegant Tiffany & Co. designs produced at the close of the 19th century through the early 21st century comprise a significant category of noteworthy clocks curated since 1970.The heavy case is precisely machined and finished like jewelry. A thick beveled crystal covers the matte silvered dial with crisp applied gunmetal Arabic numbers. Stick hands with luminescent fill are easily read at a distance. Concord Watch Co. along with Swiss competitors ImHof, Looping, Angelus and Luxor manufactured the best quality post WWII jeweled lever alarm, desk and shelf clocks. The 15-jewel movement in this clock was produced exclusively for Tiffany & Co. The clock displays beautifully and holds accurate time. Please view close-up images and study descriptive information. NOTE: During September of 2023 the movement was completely disassembled (including removal of mainspring from barrel), ultrasonically cleaned and rinsed, elements checked for wear, a bushing installed, pivots polished, reassembled and lubricated with high-grade Swiss grease and two viscosity oils. Brass strut, case back, dust cover, winding key and set knob were hand cleaned and the bezel polished to high luster. Meticulous restoration enhanced aesthetics, ensuring reliable operation for years.
