Submitted for your bidding is an Antique miniature Carriage Clock, solid 9 kt. (375/1000) yellow gold and shell. Made by Asprey, London with 8 day French works in perfect running condition. It bears London Hallmarks, made c.1900. What separates this clock from others is not only the superb condition but the magnificent hand pierced pink gold inlaid monogram by the handle. Dimensions are, 2 1/4' x 2" x 1 5/8" deep. Total height including bun feet and handle is 3 1/4". Detractors are a line or flaw on the corner bend between one and two o'clock, the original crystal has been replaced and the bottom of the 7 O'clock rear bun foot has a slight dent, Pic. 11. IT WINDS COUNTER CLOCKWISE and accurately runs for over a week. It is difficult to estimate the exact gold weight but my best guess is somewhere around an ounce. Vintage Bulova Accutron TE-14 214, 24 Hour Military Clock From C-141 Starlifter
This is a Bulova Accutron TE-14 clock originally from one of the first Lockheed C-141 Starlifter military strategic airlifter, tail number 66-0185. I found in a small Hawaiian village, and the owner of the store's brother-in-law was the last first officer of this aircraft before decommissioning Dial needs some TLC, but what a find! Clock is currently humming along and keeping good time over 48 hrs. The 214 movement takes an Energizer 394 Multi Drain 1.55V with spacer. I do have video of the clock second hand humming along and will try to post, here. If not I can send along in direct messages. Unknown service history, but watch works and keeps time. Dial is not installed in the clock and will be shipped securely in a dial box. According to the Vintage Technology Associations website, it is one of the rarest Bulova Accutron's in existence. The Bulova Timer Laboratory ultimately produced over 200 different models of military and industrial instrument timers with specialized complications, including a 1000-day counter, a 5-year switch, a cycle timer, and a digital output timer. Such devices are among the rarest of all Accutron timepieces. History Bulova's relationship with the US space program began in 1958, when the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory approached Bulova to provide timekeeping mechanisms for the Project Vanguard satellite program. The first Accutron in space was aboard the Vanguard 1 satellite, which achieved orbit on March 17, 1958. Accutron timers were subsequently used in many early series of communication satellites, including Explorer, Tiros, Relay, Syncom, Telstar, and Pegasus. Gemini 6 and Gemini 7 both flew with Accutron panel clocks, and the Apollo program used dozens of Accutron mechanisms in various mission critical functions. The dial is signed as seen in the pictures, there are a few hairline cracks on the dial in keeping with age and use but it is sound, the movement appears to be in good order and is running fine. NEW HAVEN CLOCK CO. "WILLARD" MODEL 30 DAY TIME ONLY BANJO CLOCK FULLY RESTORED Offered for sale is a very nice New Haven Willard 30 double spring time only banjo clock with a fully and properly restored movement. This model is shown in Ly’s New Haven book on page 59. It is shown as item 188 and gives a date of manufacture of 1911. The case measures 44 inches tall and the clock has an 8-inch dial. The clock’s size is impressive, it is the same size as the E. Howard No. 2 Banjo. The movement has been completely serviced with all pivots polished and all holes properly burnished. The reverse painted glass is as perfect as you will ever find and the original label is in good condition. The brass bezel has been cleaned and polished and the brass side rails were cleaned, polished and then properly sealed with lacquer. This clock has been in my personal collection for quite a while but we are thinking about downsizing and I have been asked to “thin the herd” in preparation for the move. Please examine the high-resolution pictures carefully as they provide a detailed description of this fine timepiece. WHAT MAKES A CLOCK A GOOD VALUE? The rules of economics are fairly straightforward Simply put, it is almost impossible to spend a little and get a lot. Antique and vintage clocks follow these rules as well. You can buy “As Found” clocks for less money. Then you have to pay a shop to go through the movement and when you are done, you have spent more than if you would have bid on the nicer clocks in the beginning. I have tried through the photos to show the basic steps that I do in restoring these wonderful machines to their original state. My goal is to provide you with a quality time piece that will provide enjoyment and be a source of pride in your home for years to come. Equally important to me is to provide you with a clock that I believe will retain its value over the years. That is what I think constitutes real value in antique and vintage clocks. MY PHILOSOPHY ON CLOCKS AND CLOCK MOVEMENTS. The only way to properly repair a movement is to completely disassemble, clean and inspect all parts, and make the needed repairs by proper horoligical methods. This includes the rebushing of all worn holes and the polishing of any rough pivots. The movements are then reassembled, lubricated with a high-quality clock oil and test run for 8 days. This is a very time intensive process but is the only correct way to properly recondition a clock movement. You should expect a movement repaired in this manner to run for ten years trouble-free. I have been doing clock repair for over 43 years. I apprenticed under an Oregon State licensed repairman and have been a member of the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors (NAWCC) since 1981. I do not make a living doing this; it has become a passion of mine. I go to estate sales, auctions, and search places like eBay and Craigslist to find clocks that need restoration. Once they are made like new mechanically, I put them up for sale in the hopes of paying for my materials and upgrading my personal collection. My hope is also to provide you with an heirloom to cherish for years to come. BUYER RESPONSIBILITY Both parties need to be fully engaged in the buying process for a transaction to be a success. Buyers need to understand that the clocks I sell are between 80 and 140 years old. While the movements are fully serviced, all of my clocks show some scars from these decades of use. I try to describe these marks as best I can and mention them in my listing text. I count on the buyer to read the entire auction text and examine the high-resolution pictures closely to make sure the clock meets your needs and expectations. I am always willing to make good on any shipping damage through the insurance process but I am no longer willing to offer partial refunds simply because the buyer did not read the listing or examine the auction photos. PAYMENT AND SHIPPING. People deserve to be treated fairly and to expect that their transaction will be handled as if the business was being done face to face. NEW HAVEN CLOCK CO. "WILLARD" MODEL 30 DAY TIME ONLY BANJO CLOCK FULLY RESTORED Offered for sale is a very nice New Haven Willard 30 double spring time only banjo clock with a fully and properly restored movement. This model is shown in Ly’s New Haven book on page 59. It is shown as item 188 and gives a date of manufacture of 1911. The case measures 44 inches tall and the clock has an 8-inch dial. The clock’s size is impressive, it is the same size as the E. Howard No. 2 Banjo. The entire clock was disassembled and every part and every screw cleaned. The movement has been completely serviced with all pivots polished and all holes properly burnished. I went as far as to cover the reverse painted tablets with a heavy card stock to protect them from damage. The clock was purchased at an estate sale from the family of the original owners. Please examine the high-resolution pictures carefully as they provide a detailed description of this fine timepiece. WHAT MAKES A CLOCK A GOOD VALUE? The rules of economics are fairly straightforward Simply put, it is almost impossible to spend a little and get a lot. Antique and vintage clocks follow these rules as well. You can buy “As Found” clocks for less money. Then you have to pay a shop to go through the movement and when you are done, you have spent more than if you would have bid on the nicer clocks in the beginning. I have tried through the photos to show the basic steps that I do in restoring these wonderful machines to their original state. My goal is to provide you with a quality time piece that will provide enjoyment and be a source of pride in your home for years to come. Equally important to me is to provide you with a clock that I believe will retain its value over the years. That is what I think constitutes real value in antique and vintage clocks. MY PHILOSOPHY ON CLOCKS AND CLOCK MOVEMENTS. The only way to properly repair a movement is to completely disassemble, clean and inspect all parts, and make the needed repairs by proper horoligical methods. This includes the rebushing of all worn holes and the polishing of any rough pivots. The movements are then reassembled, lubricated with a high-quality clock oil and test run for 8 days. This is a very time intensive process but is the only correct way to properly recondition a clock movement. You should expect a movement repaired in this manner to run for ten years trouble-free. I have been doing clock repair for over 42 years. I apprenticed under an Oregon State licensed repairman and have been a member of the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors (NAWCC) since 1981. I do not make a living doing this; it has become a passion of mine. I go to estate sales, auctions, and search places like eBay and Craigslist to find clocks that need restoration. Once they are made like new mechanically, I put them up for sale in the hopes of paying for my materials and upgrading my personal collection. My hope is also to provide you with an heirloom to cherish for years to come. BUYER RESPONSIBILITY Both parties need to be fully engaged in the buying process for a transaction to be a success. Buyers need to understand that the clocks I sell are between 80 and 140 years old. While the movements are fully serviced, all of my clocks show some scars from these decades of use. I try to describe these marks as best I can and mention them in my listing text. I count on the buyer to read the entire auction text and examine the high-resolution pictures closely to make sure the clock meets your needs and expectations. I am always willing to make good on any shipping damage through the insurance process but I am no longer willing to offer partial refunds simply because the buyer did not read the listing or examine the auction photos. PAYMENT AND SHIPPING. People deserve to be treated fairly and to expect that their transaction will be handled as if the business was being done face to face.
