J. Oswald Rolling Eyes Clock J Oswald, (Frau Josa Oswald) and Fritz Oswald were believed to be Wife & Husband. Both were issued patents in Germany, about 2 weeks apart. Both were listed at the same address. The patent for these clocks was issued in 1926. At that time the clocks were carved from wood of the Holly tree. After WW2, they shifted to a composite material. eBay OSUHR Oswald Clock Kneeling Genie 8 day Runs Carved Wood More Rare Than Skull OSUHR Oswald Clock Kneeling Genie 8 day Runs Carved Wood More Rare Than Skull This Kneeling Genie clock is hand carved wood and early 1920-1930 from the Oswald OSUHR clock company, Germany and is far more rare than the Oswald Skull Clocks. The clock is out of a German estate sale and part of my collection. Being the kneeling Genie with and eight day movement makes it one of the more rare and harder to find Oswald clocks. This is the only Oswald OSUHR clock I have found where the eye on the left side (facing the clock) shows the minutes and the eye on the right side facing the clock) shows the hours. For the Oswald collector this is a rare opportunity. Look at the pictures for condition and being sold as seen in working condition but may require adjusting after shipment as with all clocks. (Condition: Pre-Owned)

Purchased this clock a few years ago from an estate sale. It was working but would not stay running. Now after sitting sometimes it works and others it does not. He is an adorable multicolor wood design. All original and shows well. Marked on back of clock movement "OSUHR" and on bottom of back there is a metal tag written in German. Vintage Osuhr Oswald Revolving Rotating Eye Clock Pointy Ear Dog HTF Smaller Sz
It's the pointy ear dog / fox in the harder to find small size. I do not know the exact age of this clock. The design was patented in 1926. I would think that this is an early model. The left eye is the hour "hand" and the right is the minutes.

Old J. Oswald "Osuhr" rotating, rolling eye clock Black Forest Germany 1940s
This is an old, used J. Oswald clock - Osuhr -, with rotating, rolling eyes showing the time, made in the Black Forest, Germany around the 1940s. The clock is in very good condition, the clockwork works fine and holds the time. The carved wooden body looks great, no broken parts. The base is marked with the Oswald sticker. The Pertinax plate ist marked Oswald Westgermany and one leg is marked Germany, please see photos. The size of the clock is c. w 5 1/2" x d 3 1/2" x h 5 3/4"( 14 cm x 9 cm x 14,5 cm) and the weight is 444g. This is a very good collectable. Thank you for looking.<br /><
