Fabergé Gryphon Clock Sterling Silver With Jade Base
The is a Gryphon Desk/Mantle Clock made by Faberge. The base is made of Jade and the figure and trim is made of Sterling Silver. This makes the clock pretty heavy. This clock was made in the mid 2000’s by Faberge and is remade after a clock produced by Faberge in 1907. It has an oval shaped base which is made of hand carved Siberian Jade, and is decorated with applied sterling silver swags of berried foliage. The Gryphon, atop the base, is made of sterling silver, and clasps a sword with one arm, and a shield in the form of a clock with the other arm. The clock is powered by a modern Swiss quartz movement. Superior quality materials and the skills of the finest craftsmen have recreated this piece. It is right around 10 1/2 inches tall and the original selling price was $15,000 in the mid 2000’s. It was limited to 62 pieces and this is number 29. They were all individually stamped and I included a picture of the stamp in the photos. Also, this clock seems to be brand new. It has no scratches, dents, or signs of ever leaving the felt box that it comes in. Let me know if you have any questions and throw me any offers because the worst I can say is no.
