The beauty of this kinetic, industrial themed clock made the decision easy to determine that it should be restored and was sent to Kinetico Studios in Eureka Springs, Arkansas for restoration by Terri Bradt. This incredible Kilburg Geochron Clock is LEGENDARY in the clock world. Meticulously handcrafted, the Geochron is a rare fusion of art and science, and the only mechanical geographic chronometer ever made. From 1962-2007, Geochron was based in Redwood City, CA, supported by machinists and contractors in the San Francisco area (1987 New York Times article). In a day before the internet, the Geochron was really the only way to represent the Sunrise / Sunset in real time on Earth. It was a big hit, all the way to White House. These clocks are status symbols and have been seen in films, museums, scientific displays and high finance board rooms for decades. One hangs in the White House as well.This clock has been a part of my family for years and is in perfect working order. I took photos of it outside in proper light so that you can see the incredible mahogany wood that makes up the frame. This is the REAL WOOD edition of their clock. If you want, feel free to google Kilburg Geochron and go onto the companies website and see how much the Mechanical Real Wood edition sells for.... spoilers... it retails for $3,795.00! I think my asking price is very fair. This particular example works exactly as it should, is bright and beautiful to look at and keeps accurate time, and I mean ACCURATE! Was purchased, then stored in a plastic bag with foam padding around stainless steel face for years. Some very minor cosmetic flaws (and we're being very nit-picky). Very small hard to see scratch on upper right side of handle, minor ding on top rear side of handle, minor scratches on clock arms. Otherwise the piece is in excellent condition. Tested the clock by inserting a battery and it functioned as it should. The hands can be easily bent, therefore they may require flattening when you receive it if bent while shipping. 8 Day West German Hunter Cuckoo Clock Large 24â? Tall. Recent estate purchase. Highly detailed West German made clock. 24â? tall to top of antlers. The clock without the top piece installed is 17â? tall. I did not set it up and test it so selling for repair. The only thing I can see wrong is one of the bellows has a hole in it. There was a receipt in with it (pictured) that shows it as being repaired and serviced in 2007 from the Poulsbo Clock Shop. Family said the clock had been in storage for several years so Iâ??m guessing it wonâ??t take much to get it functioning. Please
