Title: Antique Grandfather Clock Description: Presented for your consideration is this gorgeous old antique grandfather clock. The clock has a stunning solid wood case with ball feet and beveled glass on the front and sides. The dial of the clock has a square brass face with a silver tone dial and a second hand dial. An ornate pattern is throughout the face. At the top of the dial is a moon phase dial. There are also dials for the chimes. The chime has 9 metal tubes all are in excellent condition with no cracks or dents. Chime works but the tubes are not currently hooked up to the clock due to us moving the clock. Any skilled clock repairman could put them for you. Just above the 6 on the dial and on the interior of the case are manufacturer labels that read "Colonial Mfg. Co. Zeeland, Mich. U.S.A." At the top of the left and right sides are small doors to access the works. Works look to be in excellent condition. At the time of listing the clock is running and looks to be keeping good time. Atmos 13 Jewels JAEGER LECOULTRE clock caliber 540. S/N #609088 which is first generation from late 1984 to early 1985. Clock runs fine but probably needs a cleaning to keep exact time. Clock is in excellent condition but there is a small chip in the corner of one of the glass panels. See pictures. Lovely early clock,nice label and comes with door and winding keys. May need service.There is a label on back from The Moon Dial in Kennet Sq from 1984 saying movement overhauled and case polished. Antique style bracket clock with Kieninger mvt striking on 8 nested bells
This clock, known as the "Boston Parlour Clock," was originally assembled in 1984 from a case kit and movement sold by Mason and Sullivan. The case is made of solid walnut and measures 20 1/2 inches high, 17 1/2 inches wide, and 8 3/4 inches deep. All the glass panels, both on the sides and the front, are beveled. The dial is white, adorned with beautifully painted flowers in each corner. The moon phase dial features a scene with a windmill and a full moon.The clock features a distinctive movement by Kienenger, the long discontinued three-train, triple-chime mechanism that plays melodies on eight nested bells. Such movements are highly coveted. It includes a chime selector at the three o'clock position to switch between tunes or to silence the chimes completely. The movement now has the ability to play a CHORD or 3 notes, rather than the original single note (much better!)I have just removed the mainsprings, cleaned and oiled them. The pivots of the mechanism have been carefully oiled. An inspection of the movement shows very little bushing wear. I see no real need to overhaul the clock at this time. I have only run the clock occasionally as I have others that I can enjoy. The movement is running and chiming for the full week.Also included are the original key, the pendulum, as well as all the assembly instructions and some adjustment tips from Mason and Sullivan.Due to the size of the clock, and the shipper required 'dimensional shipping' program, the package can be costly to ship, especially across zones, say from California to New York. I will remove the movement and pack it separately from the case for protection. They will be shipped together, however. No international shipping.There will be an extended shipping time as the clock will have to be packed specially.
