RARE BAIRD ADVERTISING CLOCK FOR SAPOLIO SOAP CIRCA 1891-1895
SAPOLIO was gone for shelves before the beginning of WWII and now very few people have ever heard of this product. BAIRD ADVERTISING CLOCK FOR SAPOLIO SOAP. Generally, the clock is a pretty standard Baird clock from the Plattsburgh era, except that it has the less common solid bottom door.

Gorgeous & Large Black Forest Cuckoo Quail Clock ** The Crow, Fox & Grapes
For your consideration is a beautiful antique Black Forest Cuckoo Quail clock in exceptional running condition and serviced within the last 10 years. The case is in wonderful condition, showing only what I consider to be 2-3 excellent professional repairs to the reverse side of the upper crest and 1 leaf tip on the middle left side has lost a tiny amount of surface cover, but the tip is still there. A teeny tiny brad is missing from the numeral IX and there is a slight vertical hairline directly behind the fox or below the #6. I can't imagine any 100+++ year old cuckoo clock that hasn't received some repair attention. The Fox & the Crow of Aesop's Fable is the stylistic theme of this clock. The fox and crow has either a glass or a plastic eye. The large dial measuring apprx. 6 7/8" features celluloid numerals and lovely carved bone hands produced by BoneHands out of Canada - who was definitely primo & one of the best! The cuckoo and quail birds bob and flap their wings - Click on Video below. This clock was imported from Germany by George Kuehl ca. 1910. The Kuehl Clock Company was founded by Theodore (b.1865) and George Kuehl, who were born in Germany and came to Chicago where they entered into the clock business. They prospered importing Black Forest cuckoo clocks and other types/styles of clocks including Gustav Becker, Kienzle and others. In 1891, they incorporated. They received Gold Medals at Chicago, Omaha, Paris and St. Louis Exhibitions. They were businessmen much like Florence Kroeber, who was also born in Germany and had connections with European/German clock manufacturers who supplied him with foreign made clocks which he sold through his store in NY. The thirty hour restored serviced movement is stamped GK - the bellows were recovered and rest upon the old pipes which produce a marvelous tone. DIMENSIONS: 26" height not including the pendulum or weights; width at the uppper crest is 18 1/2"; depth from the crow's wing to the wall is 11"; weight is just over 8 pounds NOT including the 3 weights that total apprx 8 pounds. BAIRD ADVERTISING CLOCK THIS CLOCK ADVERTISES: NEW YORK CLOTHING HOUSE102 -104 E. BALTO. ST. BALTIMOREONE BETWEEN 1891 and 1895 E.P. Baird moved his clock company to Plattsburgh, NY in late 1890 or early 1891. In 1895 his company went bankrupt, with a sheriffs sale of his factory in very early 1896. Clocks with this case style were only made in the Plattsburgh, NY factory.Up for auction is early 1890's Baird advertising clock for the New York Clothing House in Baltimore, MD. I bought this out of an estate sale. I am no Baird expert but to my eyes the finish appear to be original paint if a bit smokey. Nevertheless, please use your own judgement in making a determination on originality. The movement is the standard Seth Thomas that was used in the vast majority of these clocks.This clock is for one of at least fourteen different clothing houses/stores that advertised on Baird clocks. Because they are for smaller establishments, they number of clocks order by any of these stores is relatively low making most of them fairly uncommon to see oor come up for sale. Another copy of this clock is shown in Jerry Maltz's excellent book on Baird clocks on pages 98-99. The clock is currently on the wall and running. Like all clocks of this age, I can't promise that after shipping it won't need adjustment but it does currently run for a complete week. ANTIQUE 1890â??s Extravagant German Lenzkirch Table Clock - Really Nice
The serial number is 914065 wich dates either to 1891 or 1892 depending upon which reference list is used. This looks to be a dark stained hazelnut wood case made by Lenzkirch. This features a raised feet base, beveled glass door, fancy clock dial and hands, exterior columns left and right of the clock dial finished with a triple finial and seashell crown.

Do you love old clocks? This clock is from Germany and it is stamped Oct. 1891. My mother was an antique collector and passed away many years ago. Height is 22 1/2". Restored Antique Ingraham Mantel Clock circa 1900 Original Movement
This Ingraham “Regent” Mantle clock was in production from 1891 through 1908. The movement has no date stamp, which would date it before 1900. "Regent" is the model name. This clock was made in the United States of America. Movement has been completely overhauled and is in working condition. Movement taken apart, ultrasonically cleaned, repairs made as needed, new springs installed, lubricated and tested. Includes key and pendulum. Cabinet has been refinished. Ornaments (lion sides and feet) have been refinished. It is in very nice condition. Please see photos as I have tried to show the condition of the cabinet. This clock was well taken care of over the years and has been refinished. There are dents and some alligatoring to the finish. The dial is the original brass dial used during the 1890s on Regent models. Label on rear is a replica. It measures approx. 17" wide x 11” hi x 7 1/4” deep. Clock gongs once on the half hour and gongs the hour on the hour. This is an 8-day strike clock and it has to be wound weekly. The pendulum and a key are included. Thanks for your interest. This clock comes with instructions on how to set the beat if necessary. Plus, I give other info on troubleshooting if needed. Some have minor damage from the years and others need some major repairs. I use the original finish if possible and match the original if necessary. Many of these clocks have small dents or flaws from when they were made or have been damaged at some time over the years. I repair these damaged spots and don’t just paint over them. Some of my clock cabinets have not been restored. When I come across ones that have been taken care of over the years, I will only restore the movement and dial as necessary and clean / polish the cabinets. The engravings of the black clocks are restored by hand. This is time consuming and takes patience. I do this myself and find it really adds to the beauty of these clocks. My restorations include the cabinet, dial, movement, ornaments, painted or natural wood finish, engravings, case insides, and re-assembly as needed for a solid clock.
