Silas Hoadley was born in 1786 and died in Plymouth, CT in 1870. He first apprenticed to his uncle Samuel and was making clocks in 1808. Signed by maker S. Hoadley, Plymouth Conn. Early 19th century.

This is a clock of significant horological interest in that it is associated with the renowned Silas Hoadley of Plymouth CT. S. Hoadley (1786-1870) was one of the original clockmakers in the U.S. until 1849.

 We are selling clock parts for parts & repair only.  This is a wooden movement , Pillar & Scroll made by Silas Hoadley.  It is circa 1786 - 1870.  It is a 30 hr. movement. The high bidder can take either just the parts or the parts and the case.  I will change the shipping if you should want just the parts. The weight of the whole clock, case and movement, is heavy plus a larger box is needed.  The case has some problems.  The original door has a crack in the bottom reverse painting glass.  There is some veneer loss and one pillar is missing.&nb
