Would make a great gift for a special occasion, or keep it for yourself! Nice looking wall clock here. Made by the Seth Thomas Company in the USA. This is not the smaller 4" case model. This is the larger 7" case model. Have not take the clock face off to see what the serial number is. Would guess from design that the clock was made prior to WWII.Nice brass lacquered case here. Some finish loss, most notably on the 4 to 6 o'clock position on the bezel. The numbering and minute marking are done in black on the silver background face. The hands match and look appropriate to the clock. The seconds hand is also in place and moves as expected. The slow/fast adjustment lever is in place on the face of the clock, and seems to work as well. The brass case is all there. No dings or dents to the metal case. Does show some minor lacquer loss to the case, mostly on the bezel and some discoloration on the sides of the case. The case has a latch bezel that is securely on it's hinge. The glass is intact, no cracks or blistering to the glass.The clock has an 8 day mechanical brass movement. The wind springs feels sound when keyed. The clock will come with a vintage wind key that is on a chain attached to the oak wood case. So, the clock is being sold in running and striking condition. Someone hand made this oak wood base the Ship's Clock is mounted on. Has a bottom piece and then a back piece that is secured to the bottom by brass straps on each side. Some chipping to the caseThe Seth Thomas Ship's Wall Clock on wood stand is 10-3/8" tall, by 12-7/8" across, by 7.5" wide. The Ship's Clock is 7" across by the front bezel, by 4" wide.
