eBay In my family for generations, this vintage Kaiser Astral Torsion clock is a true gem for antique and retro collectors. The clock features a manual power source and an analog display type with multicolor zodiac master characters on its oval-shaped dial. The clock is made of brass and has a vintage/retro style finish. As quoted in Horolovar's 400-Day Clock Repair Guide, 9th edition, by Charles Terwilliger 'Grand Universe' C 1954- 1962 will probably go down in history as the finest 400 day clock ever made. They were expensive to make and expensive to buy at that time. J. Kaiser was using the name 'Universe' which had already been trademarked by a U.S. watch importer. This made Kaiser give up this name or face a court challenge. There were probably no more than a few thousand of these clocks made.. A very rare and early clock that was one of their first models.”Model History & Features: None of the 5 variations of this model produced between 1952 and 1963 could be sold in the United States during this time because the word "Universe" was trademarked elsewhere in America. The clock is notable for its 3-dimensional moon above the dial which displays lunar phases and its beautifully designed "universe" dial with Zodiac signs on the bezel. The pendulum is a revolving replica of Earth. Many collectors and experts consider this clock to be the greatest 400-day clock ever made.The signs and symbols, above the dial is a revolving moon and stars. In amazing shape and with some TLC and a clocksmith’s time this baby will be back and running in no time. The clock is in great working order and has been refurbished by the seller. It comes with a 400-day anniversary feature and has roman numerals for the number type. The clock has a sun, moon, and stars theme and is engraved with the Kaiser brand name. The clock has no chime sequence and is perfect for any room.Running?: With a tune up (see video of it running a few years ago; the spring is wound tight) Condition: This clock is composed of 100% original parts, including its key, though it is possible that the suspension wire has been changed.
