It was Made during the 20th Century after Jean-Henri Riesener during the reign of Louis XVI. The Bronze casting on the clock itself is signed with a Beautiful finish of Museum quality. It has a nice Lyre shaped Pendulum & Westminster Chimes with a Glass Window at the center of the door. The Dial is nicely Gilded with Porcelain Roman Numerals & 3 separate Keyholes to wind the clock. It has Beautiful Lion Paw Feet with Faux Tortoise Inlays in an Ebonized Lacquer Finish Case. The Clock has its original Franz Hermle Movement with Hammer Rods & Chime Rods. Isaac Reed was at work in Philadelphia (Frankford District) on the NW corner of 2nd and Vine St. from 1819 - 1822. In 1823 he moved to 176 N. 2nd St and remained there until 1846. He was a Silversmith, Watchmaker and Clockmaker. This example is from the late Federal Period and exhibits the classic rectalinear lines indigenous to the Delaware Valley. The primary wood is Cherry with long leaf yellow Pine secondaries.
