A wonderful architectural Alexander Fleig mantel clock from the late 19th century w/ service dates written in pencil of 1895,1902, 33, 34, 38, 62 from all I can make out anyway. The case is Oak and very nice quality with an incredible amount of detail. The black lacquer trim sets of a look of that intriguing Victorian era. Flutes have been re-leathered and the near lost bird restored to working order and brightened up with a bit of paint. Antique Black Forest quail cuckoo clock nice dark patina runs and functions as it should cuckoos every 15 minutes and cuckoos and gong every hour. Would date to early 1890s. Nicely carved Stag with glass eyes on crest with smaller Stag and chamois nbsp;featured nbsp;on body of clock. 30 hour brass movement is stamped A.F. I was unable to identifymaker but if anyone knows who A.F. is could you please let me know, just curious. Seen in last photo is break in case and over the years there have been a couple of repairs to the crest. Stag's antlers are not originalto the clock. From to

Up for auction is this beautiful antique Black Forest Cuckoo Quail clock by Alexander Fleig, AF, circa 1905. The carving on this clock is gorgeous, the detail work is amazing. The 30 hour cast brass movement, stamped AF, is in running condition and functions as it should. The bellows are old and although they function should be recovered. The quail bellow has already been recovered but should be in leather. The double wire gongs have a soft chime sound like that of a mantle clock.
